Today I'm sharing the first of three scrapbook layouts that I have created for The Scrap Room craft store using the Silver Screen Magic collection from Craft O'Clock.
For the base I cut a 2 inch frame from the Real Raven CDW Cardstock. Next I trimmed 1/4 inch from each side of the #3 paper from the Silver Screen Magic - 12x12 Main Papers pack. Distress the edges of the pape. Add glue to the inside of the black cardstock frame then add the #3 paper to the frame to form the base.
On the base I lightly stenciled some brown ink around the edges of the flower clusters using. This just helps to give some added texture and interest.
Next I die cut a frame from the leftover Real Raven DCW Cardstock and used that to lightly trace an oval on my photo so I knew where to cut it. Oval dies can vary in size and even shape so doing it this way rather than using a die oval makes sure that your photo is exactly the right size for this particular frame. Add some scrap cardstock to the back and adhere to the layout base. I've just used some of the leftover chipboard (negative image) from the chipboard title.
Elements were fussy cut from the Silver Screen Magic Extras Set 3 Mixed papers. I then die cut two flourishes and a fan from the Shiraz DCW Cardstock. The chipboard title was inked with the Aged Mahogany Oxide Ink first then with the Lumberjack Plaid Oxide Ink.
All elements were then added to the layout as shown. I wanted a little more interested and tie into the colour of the teddy bear, so I added some gold splatters using gold acrylic ink. Because I was using the dropper and not a brush and it was acrylic, it made a bit of a mess and I smudged it when trying to clean it up. In the end I actually liked the effect, so I added more and even lightly dabbed more onto the frame just using my finger. Sometimes accidents turn into happy accidents when crafting! Some white pearls were added to complete the layout and play off the pearls in the photo.
