Grateful Heart Shaker Card for Bee Arty

Wednesday, January 27, 2021 0 Comments
Hi everyone! I'm on the Bee Arty blog today sharing a quick and easy shaker card created with the "Grateful Heart" collection.  Here is the completed card plus a quick tutorial showing how it was created.

To create this card, cut a piece of white cardstock down to 5"x5" square. Cut the dark spotted quarter from the Heart 12x12 paper and trim down to 5.75"x5.75" square. This will leave a 1/4 inch border on the base of the card.

Next die cut six of the "wreath" from white cardstock using the String Leaves Die Set. Adhere five pieces together to build up dimension. Put the sixth die cut aside for later.

Die cut another wreath from a scrap piece copy paper and trim off the excess so that you're left with just the circle frame. This will ensure your acetate is the right size. Adhere to a piece of acetate and trim down.

Cut out the doily on the left side from the Gathers 12x12 paper. Colour the flower with pencils or alcohol markers of your choice. I've used colours to match the collection but you can use any colour combination for this project. I've added another flower doily in the photo below to show the difference when coloured. Adhere to the layered wreath frame with strong glue. When dry add in sequins/glitter of your choice, adhere the acetate layer then the sixth wreath die cut and adhere the embellishment to the centre of the card base.

Cut out the banner from the Bonus Sheet, colour with the same pens/pencils to match the flower. Stamp a sentiment and adhere with foam tape to complete the card.

Today is a Gift Layout for Bee Arty

Wednesday, January 13, 2021 0 Comments
Hi everyone! I'm up on the Bee Arty blog today with a layout created with the new collection by Michelle Grant called "Grateful Heart".  Here is the completed layout plus a tutorial below showing how I created this layout.

On a glass craft mat or messy mat, mix some Olive Grove Mica Powder with some water. Smoosh across the base with some scrap plastic.

Take a sheet of Bee Arty white 350gsm paper, trim off an inch from one side and adhere the two spotted/lacey strips from the "Gathers" 12x12 paper to the top and bottom to form a 12x12 base.

Using the Lined A5 Stencil, lightly stencil an "L" shape over using black archival ink and a blending brush or sponge. Using the Starry Night A6 Stencil, stencil some Olive Grove Colour Paste (or Sage if you have the kit) over the area where you smooshed the mica powder/water mix. Turn the stencil as you go to give a more random look.

Next fussy cut the floral cluster from the "Love" 12x12 paper excluding the bird cage. The image below shows where it will sit on the layout.

Fussy cut all elements from the "Family", "Gathers" and "Bonus Sheet" as shown in the images below. You may use more or less elements if you wish. The photo and title layers have been adhered with foam tape for extra dimension.

Here are some images of my layout from different angles so you can see how I've created and embellished the page.

Today I'm sharing my Design Team project for the Scrap the Girls January Challenge. Scrap the Girls is a challenge whereby the only basic rule is - no boys! Every month there will be a mood board to follow for inspiration.

Here is my take on January's mood board which is themed "Dead Men Tell No Tales".
